Version 4.5 Upgrade

For those of you who are on pcs Odyssey Version 4.0, Version 4.5 is now available.

            What’s new in pcs Odyssey Version 4.5, here is a list of major features;

 

CUSTOMERS - Past items and quantities purchased, now viewable from the customer lookup windows.

PURCHASING - Now shows the date a Purchase Order was completed from the Browse Purchase Orders screen.

RENTAL - Simplified Rental Inventory report, added sort options and ability to suppress details.

RENTAL - Added extended information to Rental Serial items.  Now Transmission and Engine information can be recorded.

RENTAL - Added functionality to allow Rental Serial Items to be sent to Work Order without having planned Maintenance configured.

INTERFACING - ProQuest Parts Manager Pro - Ability to look up parts from the ProQuest system and ability to send PickLists to Odyssey for Invoicing.

INTERFACING - QuickBooks Enabled.

CUSTOMER - Ability to log phone calls made to/from customers.

INVENTORY - Price Files - When you install a price file you can automatically update inventory at the same time and keep your update selections for each manufacturer.

GENERAL REPORTS - Can now sort by High Sales, as well as filter out a certain number of high sales. (i.e. Top 100 Parts Sold, Top 10 Customers)

There are two new Interfaces available:

ProQuest Parts Manager Pro interface – If you use the Tecumseh parts lookup, the ARI/PartSmart no longer provides this.  This is now a product of ProQuest and we have the interface available.

QuickBooks – For users that presently have our AP and GL the QuickBooks interface replaces them and this interface is free (except for a $20.00 shipping and handling fee).  The Accounts Receivable is still used.  Here is the quick fact sheet;

QuickBooks fact sheet:

·         QuickBooks Interface will only be available to users using Windows 98 or greater machines on their Network.

·         QuickBooks Pro and Premier cost between $199.95 – $1,4995.95 (US Dollars) and are limited to 14,500 items combined from Customers, Vendors, Employees and is limited to 14,500 items combined from Pay Codes, Tax Codes, Inventory, Labor Codes.

·         QuickBooks Enterprise costs $3,500 (US Dollars) and is limited to 29,000 items combined from Customers, Vendors, and Employees and is limited to 29,000 items combined from Pay Codes, Tax Codes, Inventory, and Labor Codes.

·         Existing QuickBooks Users will lose all of their current QuickBooks information if they go to the interface (which will be replaced with the new interface data).

·         The interface from pcs Odyssey to QuickBooks is not Bi-Directional.  Payments and entries must all be done from the pcs Odyssey side.  Any entries done on the QuickBooks side will not transfer back to pcs Odyssey.

·         Daily batch process to send data from pcs Odyssey to QuickBooks.

We have a new PRICE File automated installer

(On price files Shipped after 27 October 2004)

What it does – After you install the price file as you normally do, the installer calls the ‘Update Prices’ option in pcs Odyssey and gives you the option of doing your inventory update from pricefile at that time.  You can also save the options you choose on the update screen for EACH manufacturer that you update.  Of course if you receive a pricefile that has an effective date that is in the future, you can cancel the auto update and run the ‘Update Prices’ option at a later date.  You will also continue to be notified by pcs Odyssey that the new price file was installed but inventory has not been updated.
